About

I am Marco Prill and was born in 1980 in Anklam. Growing up in the "Quiet Country," I spent my entire childhood and youth as an artist and dancer in the Fritz-Reuter-Ensemble Anklam. During this time, I was also active in the youth and school theater of the Vorpommersche Landesbühne. These were my first encounters with artistic expression.

At the of 16, I built my first pinhole camera from an old Pouwa Start. I started experimenting, began to observe pictorially, and tried my hand at visual storytelling. This eventually led me to photography.
I studied image and media design at the Media Academy Rügen and moved to Berlin.

After several years and multiple projects with international directors and video artists, I moved to Dresden in 2007. More cinematic and photographic projects in the dance and theater cosmos followed, until I became a permanent member of the tjg. theater junge generation Dresden in 2015. As a theater photographer and video artist, I was involved in over 100 stage productions. Since the beginning of 2024, I have been working again as a freelance theater photographer and video artist.
